Crystal Stean
I spent four years at Canterbury Christchurch University as a mature student studying a degree in Sport Sciences with Social Studies (which included education modules) and have attained my Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

I have a teaching background in Sport, Exercise, Health and Social Care for 14-19-year olds; and have dedicated my career within three NHS Trusts around the Health and Wellbeing of Children and Young People. My previous NHS roles have been as a Train the Trainer for schools in the delivering of Personal, Social and Health Education, along with delivering training around the links between emotional literacy and risk-taking behaviours.

My present roles here at Livewell Southwest, can be described as the ‘Therapeutic Management of Violence and Aggression’. We can divide our training into two specific groups; the proactive strategies of Positive Behaviour Support and Safewards; and the reactive strategies of Resolving Conflict and Restrictive Practices.  Our qualifications to deliver these courses are through the British Institute of Learning Disabilities, and the General Services Association.
